Lionel # 385E Standard Gauge Loco w/ 385W Tender NRHere is a great looking engine and tender from the late 1930s. This is a Lionel No. 385E Standard Gauge gun-metal gray 2-4-2 Steam Locomotive with its matching No. 385W Tender. Has a paper label on the front that reads 1835E, but I believe that this is the 385E. The loco is a large 15" long. Tender is 8" not including its couplers. The loco and tender look to be in very good shape - as evidenced by the photos. The steam chest on the engine is original. The front boiler plate is in good condition, showing NO crazing, and just a couple of paint scrapes. Steam chest shows no cracks. The latch on the engine boiler front works fine, and opens the front, which is not frozen shut. Both have been tested and the loco runs, but will need a cleaning to run well. The whistle on the tender hums, but also will need cleaning to whistle. I believe the pictures tell the story - and please ask any questions. Don't miss your chance to own these nice trains.
