Lionel Early Postwar # 463W 1945 Freight Set 224 2457 +

This is the rare No. 463W "O" Gauge Freight Set that Lionel made in 1945, the very first post-war set. This includes the No. 224 Diecast Steam Engine, the No. 2466W Whistle Tender, the No. 2452 Pennsylvania Gondola, the No. 2458 Pennsylvania Double Door Automobile Box Car, the No. 2755 Sunoco Tank Car, and the No. 2457 Pennsylvania Illuminated Caboose. Also, it includes some boxes - for the 2466W Tender, the 2452x Gondola, the No. 2458 Box Car, and the No. 2457 Caboose. All freights have the correct Flying Shoe Couplers.

In 1945 the engine had the blackened handrails, square cab floor and long drawbar. This is in excellent plus condition - as viewed in the pictures. I have not cleaned the engine and have left the original patina. It runs well in forward and reverse. The tender is in very nice condition also, and the whistle blows well. The freights are all in excellent condition except the tank car which shows the typical decal wear and has a warp in the frame. Some small scratches as seen in the pictures, but overall nice and clean. Trucks are in a complete unbroken state. The 2466W Box has its original insert, but is missing flaps. The 2458 Box has all it flap except inside coupler flaps. The 2458 Box is missing its end flap at one end, the 2452 Box is missing flaps at one end, and the 2457 Box has its interior lining but is missing flaps on one end.
