Lionel Set # 143W w/ 224E, 2224W + 2654 3651 2652 OB's

Here is an extremely nice Lionel prewar 'O" gauge train set from 1939-40. This is the 1939 Version. It was called the "Heavy Duty Fast Freight Set". This set includes the No. 224E 2-6-2 Steam Locomotive with the No. 2224W Whistle Tender. Also, in includes the following freights - the No. 2652 Gondola with barrels - the No. 2654 "Shell" Tank Car - the No. 3651 Lumber Car with bin, and red No. 2657 Caboose. It includes all the original internal boxes, 8 pieces of straight track, and 8 pieces of curved track, a rare Inspection slip, an RCS Track Set, A 167 Whistle Controller, a 100 Watt TrainMaster Transformer, Instructions and other paperwork, "O" gauge track clips, lube and paper, and the Set Box, and more.

I've included many photographs for you to see condition and what is contained in this auction. Overall, I believe this set is in excellent plus condition. Some items are almost like new - some very good. The engine looks great. Nice original matte finish. Runs well in forward and reverse. The tender is also super. It whistles fine. Appears that it has been rewired. The freights are all in wonderful condition for their age. The best is the Lumber Car. The Gondola has some scratches on one side. Pictures tell the story on these nice freights. The RCS has brittle wires. The boxes have some tape repairs and some missing flaps. Both the Engine, Tender and Lumber Car Boxes have their inserts. The gondola car box is missing most flaps. The Set Box is in very good condition. Missing one top inside flap. A nice label.
