Rare 1937 Lionel Prewar 700E 4-6-4 Scale Hudson w/ 700W Tender

In my opinion, here is the ultimate Lionel prewar "O" gauge Steam Engine. Mention the New York Central Railroad's "Hudson" locomotive 5344, and most collectors think of this train. Here is the 1937 version of the Lionel No. 700E Locomotive with its 700W Tender. The first year this was issued. Serial Number 01-10-83. Black zinc ally die-cast superstructure, nickel plates, rubber stamped "5344" below the windows and on the headlight. 14-1/8". Stamped NEW YORK CENTRAL on the tender. Condition on this train is excellent plus, and has been checked over and approved by the best (please email for questions). There is absolutely NO casting deterioration on any part. Train runs like a champ. I believe you would be hard pressed to find a nicer example. This set includes its original Display Board, the Engine Box and a RARE Master Carton. The Master Carton has its original flaps on one end. Flaps have been added to the other end to maintain integrity. The Box does have some condition issues, as you can see in the pictures, however, I have never seen this box before. Missing the tender box. The Display Board has been varnished at some point, and the middle rail was loose and glued back to the track. Pictures tell the story on this rare train. Again this trains runs well, but this will be a great display and investment piece. Don't miss this rare and unique train - sure to be the focus of any collection.
