Lionel Canadian Pacific 2296W Super O 2373 Passenger Set

One of the most important Post-War train sets by Lionel. This is the No. 2296W Canadian Pacific Passenger Set that Lionel made in 1957. This set features the No. 2373 Canadian Pacific F-3 AA Diesels. Dual Motors with magnetraction and horn. (1) No. 2551 Canadian Pacific Illuminated "Banff Park" Observation Car; and (3) Lionel No. 2552 Canadian Pacific Illuminated "Skyline 500" Vista Dome Cars. Comes with all individual boxes, and original Lionel paper. No Set Box.

Overall, this set is in excellent condition. Some specifics, and please view ALL the photographs below. Overall the engines are in excellent condition. The decals show some wear - more on the powered unit. The unpowered still has vents mostly covered. A couple areas of paint wear on the high areas of the roofs. No breaks or cracks. The powered engine runs in forward and reverse when tested. Some marks on the bottom of the battery bracket, but no corrosion.  The passenger cars are really clean. No oxidation, wheels show very little run time. All light up fine. I see a couple of minor surface scratches, but overall very clean. One of the bottom stripes on a 2552 has a piece missing (see pics). Boxes are also very nice. a couple reinforced flaps, a couple missing coupler flaps, and the 2531 has a tear where the coupler flap would be attached.
