Lionel Set # 2179WS 1952 671RR 2046W + Freights Set BoxHere is a fairly rare set of Lionel postwar trains - Set No. 2179WS catalogued in 1952. The set includes the scarce No. 671RR Steam Turbine with Headlight and Smoke, the No. 2046W-50 Pennsylvania Whistle Tender, the No. 6462 Black NYC Gondola with barrels, the No. 6465 Sunoco Tank Car and the No. 6457-25 Illuminated SP Caboose. It also includes some paperwork, an Engine smoke tamper, the individual boxes, and the original Set Box. Selling what is pictured, and please look at all the pictures and ask any questions before bidding. This set include a nice 671RR steam engine. What is unique about this engine is that it has the earlier No. 671 shell without the "RR" markings. This engine does not have magnetraction. Additionally, you have the "Pennsylvania" 2046W-50 Tender. Overall, this is a real nice looking set. The engine is excellent plus with just some minor paint nicks. It did run in forward and reverse, lights up and smokes. The tender looks to be in similar shape, no breaks or cracks. Does have some minor scratches. It whistles well. The freights are generally excellent to excellent plus. The individual boxes overall are in excellent condition. The Engine box has all it flaps but many flaps have been reattached. Original insert. The Tender box is excellent with original insert. All the other boxes are very nice - all flaps. The set box is in poor condition. All the top flaps have been reattched. Some spliting at the corners. It's there, but not in great shape. I do not think that these trains were run very much. Please ask any questions. A very nice Lionel postwar set to own. Price: $380 SORRY! SOLD!
