Lionel Prewar # 226E Steam Locomotive w/ 2226W Tender

Here is a nice prewar Lionel "O" Gauge 2-8-4 Locomotive - No. 226E steam locomotive, with its matching No. 2226W Whistle Tender. This is the later version with the tender having the blackened journals, and simulated knuckle box couplers. Engine measures 10-3/4" long not including the couplers. Overall these are in nice condition - as seen in the pictures. Engine has been tested and it will need to be cleaned and lubed to run, the whistle on the tender works. I believe the paint on the engine looks to have been touched up. Not sure, but I can see some inconsistencies in the black. I also see that one of the stanchions is also broken. The tender looks good, but it has some of the old Christmas snow spray flakes on one side, and missing one slip shoe on the truck. A nice pair not to be missed.
