Rare Lionel # 226E Steam Locomotive w/ 2226W Master BOXHere is rare set of late prewar Lionel "O" Gauge Trains. Featuring a tough No. 2226EW Master Carton. Tonight we are offering the 2-8-4 No. 226E Steam Locomotive, its matching No. 2226W Whistle Tender, the Individual Boxes and Master Carton. This is the late prewar version with the tender having blackened journals and simulated knuckle couplers. Engine measures 10-3/4" long not including the couplers. This set is in great condition - as seen in the pictures. I would rate the appearance of the engine and tender excellent plus. The engine has been tested and it lights up in front, underneath and runs well. The whistle on the tender also works but makes some noise. The individual boxes are missing end flaps, and some interior flaps, but both have their original inserts. The outside of the boxes look great, especially the tender box. The Master Carton is in nice shape as you can see. I believe the pictures tell the story, however, if you have any questions on condition, please ask before bidding. Buyer pays shipping.
