Nice Lionel Prewar O Gauge 269W Freight Set w/ 225E 2235W 2652 + OBsHere is a good looking set of Lionel prewar O gauge trains from 1940. This is a partial set from No. 269W. The set contains the No. 225E black steam loco with its matching No. 2235W tender. Pulls the following freights - a No. 3651 automatic lumber car, two No. 2652 orange rubber stamped gondolas, and a No. 2657 caboose with tuscan roof. Comes with individual Boxes and a Set Box. Missing the 165 Magnetic Crane. The first thing you notice about the set, is the wonderful looking condition of the trains themselves. The paint on the loco and tender has that great original matte patina. The paint on the freight cars is bright and shiny with crisp lettering. A couple of notes: the Engine runs in forward and reverse, the tender whistles when tested. The Tender and the gondolas are missing slip shoes on the trucks. The Lumber Car shows some oxidation on the underside. The individual OBs for the most part are in good shape but they have some flaps attached with some tape repair. The loco box is missing most flaps. The Tender box has a replaced end flap. Also, one of the 2652 has a hole in one side, the 3651 has some tears, and the 2657 has a piece that has been repaired on one side (see pics). The Set Box is missing most of its label through the numbers. This is the set box that came with the set, however, I do not believe this to be the correct box for this set. I took many pictures for you to see the condition well, please look at all carefully. A neat set of trains - don't miss. Thanks. Price: $380 SORRY! SOLD! |
