Nice! Lionel Prewar O Gauge Freight Set 265E 265W 652 653 654 657Here is a wonderful Lionel prewar O gauge Freight Set, circa 1934. This set features a No. 265E Gun-metal gray Commodore Vanderbilt Engine, with a No. 265W Tender. These are pulling (4) tinplate freights - a No. 652 Gondola with wooden barrels, a No. 653 light green hopper, a No. 654 Sunoco Tank Car and a No. 657 Caboose. All with latch couplers and nickeled journals. The Set comes with individual boxes and the seldom seen Set Box. All that is pictured. The Engine and tender are beautifully restored and in terrific shape. Both worked when tested. The Engine box is missing end flaps on one end. The tender box is missing coupler flaps. Marked "BLK NP" on the ends. Which doesn't match the tender. The Freights all look great. The 653 Hopper is almost mint. The tank car shows some decal wear. Some wear on the sides of the gondola, but minor. Caboose also beautiful. Boxes are mostly complete. All the boxes are missing the coupler flap on one end, and have just a half on the other end. The rest of the flap are there. The Set box has some tape around it, and some staining. Is nice and sturdy with a good label.
