Rare Lionel Uncatalogued U.S. Marine Land & Sea Freight Set 11-L-255

This is the rare Uncatalogued No. 11-L-255 USMC Land & Sea Freight Military Set that Lionel sold to Firestone circa. 1959. The components were the same as cataloged Set No. 1591, and probably offered to Firestone to liquidate unsold 1958 inventory. Included is a  No. 212 USMC Alco A-unit,  that pulls (3) Military Flat Cars w/Pyro Military Loads - a No. 6803, a No. 6807 and a No. 6809. Comes with the correct No. 6017-60 USMC  Caboose. Includes the original Set Box and all Interior Boxes, minus the Caboose box, as shown in all the pictures. The condition of the set is outstanding. The 212 Alco is beautiful - showing little runtime. When tested it ran in forward and reverse. It comes with a brick-like box and Instruction sheet. The flta cars all have their original Pyro loads, some are missing their bands. The flat car boxes have some missing flaps, skinning, and some small tears as pictured. The Set box is very nice for this rare box, some tears to the seams, but overall it is nice and sturdy.
