Lionel # 264E Red Comet Commodore Vanderbilt Set 265W 603 603 604

Here is a very nice prewar Lionel "O" gauge Set - The Red Comet - this is Set 291W from 1936. It features the No. 264E Commodore Vanderbilt "Red Comet" Locomotive with its No. 265W red Whistle Tender. Included are the following passenger cars - the No. 603 Pullman, another 603 Pullman, and the No. 604 Observation. Condition is detailed in the many pictures (please click the link above to view all the pictures before bidding). The Engine has been restored with a new back cab. Missing its number boards. Also a small tip on the metal front grille (see pics).The engine runs in both forward and reverse when tested. The tender has a whistle but it needs to be mounted. Have not tested. The tender is original paint and has some wear. The cars are really very nice - and all original. Some minor wear. Overall a real nice set - not to be missed. I believe the pictures tell the story
