Rare 1937 Lionel Prewar 700E 4-6-4 Scale Hudson w/ 700W TenderIn my opinion, here is the ultimate Lionel prewar "O" gauge Steam Engine. Mention the New York Central Railroad's "Hudson" locomotive 5344, and most collectors think of this train. Here is the 1937 version of the Lionel No. 700E Locomotive with its 700W Tender. The first year this was issued. Serial Number 010750. Black zinc ally die-cast superstructure, nickel plates, rubber stamped "5344" below the windows and on the headlight. 14-1/8". Rubber stamped NEW YORK CENTRAL on the tender. Condition on this train is extremely nice, and one of the better 37s I've seen in awhile. This is a nice straight, no excuse 700E. Train runs when tested. Shell is clean with nice graphics, and little wear. One small touch-up on the cab roof. Frame appears mostly straight, with cow catcher approx. 3/16" above flat surface. Does not touch third rail when on the tracks. Original drawbar pin in back missing the O ring to connect. Tender is extermely nice. Some age wear, but overall a great looking 100% original tender with no warpage. This is a nice original train, surely to be the focus of any collection. Don't miss this rare and unique set. Thanks.
